Your IP, fast and private. Plus a hero.

Why this exists
"What is my IP" is one of the most searched utility questions on the web, and many of the sites that answer them bury the result under pop-ups and ad clutter, or quietly log the very IP address you came to check. We think a tool that shows you your data should not also be collecting it.
The site is free, and a few clearly labelled ads pay for it. They sit below the results, never between you and the answer, and never as pop-ups.
So MyIPHero does the simple thing well: give the answer immediately, explain what it means in plain English, and keep nothing. And because an IP address is a little dry, your connection also picks a pixel-art hero you can share.
02 — Principles
Answer first
The result appears above the fold in about a second. No pop-ups, no "click to reveal", nothing between you and the number you came for.
Private by default
No accounts, no IP addresses in our logs, no cookies of our own. Your hero card and its share link contain no IP either.
Light pages
Static HTML from the edge, a few kilobytes of JavaScript only where a tool needs it. Fast on a slow phone, usable without JS.
Explain the result
Every result says what it means and where it can be wrong. IP location is approximate, and we say so right next to it.
How your data is handled
Here is where the work happens and what, if anything, leaves your browser:
| Tool | Runs in | What leaves your device | Stored |
|---|---|---|---|
| My IP | Our edge server | The request itself | Nothing |
| Hero card | Our edge server | The request itself | Nothing |
| curl / JSON | Our edge server | The request itself | A ~1 min rate-limit counter |
We count visits with Cloudflare Web Analytics, which uses no cookies and shows us only totals. Ads are served by Google AdSense, which may use cookies; in the EU it asks for your consent first. The full details, including the providers we use, are in the privacy policy.
How it's built
- Static pages on the edge. The site is plain HTML served from Cloudflare's network, so pages load from a data centre near you.
- Your IP from the request itself. The address and approximate location come from the connection you make to us, not from a third-party API.
- Hero cards drawn on the server. The pixel-art card is rendered at the edge from your connection data; only the finished image leaves.
- No paid data brokers. No external IP-intelligence service sees your address.
What we won't pretend
IP geolocation is approximate: the city is often your provider's nearest hub. We say so next to the result, because a confident wrong answer is worse than an honest approximate one. And the hero is just for fun: it says nothing about you, only about the network you are on.
Who's behind it
Hi, I'm Jakub Verner. Every IP checker I tried looked the same: a number, a grey table, done. Useful, but boring. So I built MyIPHero to make it fun: the same accurate data, plus a pixel-art hero for your connection. It's a one-person side project, and I keep adding to it.
